The Alto Gállego Region has water everywhere: in the numerous reservoirs, rivers, pools, hidden gorges, mountain lakes, waterfalls and the countless springs.
You will often spot people in the summer having a dip in a mountain lake (called ibones) with an ice floe next to it. Or paths along the river converted into natural beaches, although without the beach bars. If you want to be alone, look a little further and you will have your own private beach.
There are also organised activitiess on the Búbal and Lanuza dams which have a café, restaurant, and beach, and offer pedal boats, canoeing, kayaking and sailing. This is a good option if you are new to these types of activities and would like to try them out safely and carefree. Also any members of the family who don’t join in can keep an eye on you from the beach.
If you are looking for something more adventurous, try canyoning; or if you were thinking of a sport combined with patience, fishing is for you.
