INTERPRETATION CENTERS

The Centre is in a restored building in Javierrelatre. The space contains the work of Leoncio Mairal, a painter with a long career marked by countless exhibitions and numerous prizes.

Mairal was born here 72 years ago, and his pieces are rooted in rural life and the natural environment in their purest sense. More than other artists, Mairal reflects the landscape of this part of Aragon, its hidden corners, mountainsides, houses and woods, of which he offers viewers his perception.

During the course of the year, interspersed between Marial’s works, the Centre also organises different exhibitions covering various themes: contemporary painting, ethnology, photography, etc.

The space is also a reference point for visitors to the area as tourist information is available here. Furthermore, the audio-visual presentation Between Mountains and Waters runs at the Centre. It shows the rich cultural and environmental heritage of the Caldearenas Valley.
