This locality is located in the foothills of the Central Pyreneesin the province of Huesca, and is part of the Alto Gállego Region. It comprises the urban centres of Yebra de Basa, Sobás, San Julián de Basa, Orús and Fanlillo, as well as the uninhabited villages of Cortillas, Cillas and Sasa de Sobrepuerto. Yebra de Basa is the county town of the area.

The economy of the locality is based mainly on agriculture and livestock, often combining these activities with other work.

The event that best represents the locality is the Procession of Saint Orosia, which is celebrated on 25th June.
