A picturesque hamlet of about 50 inhabitants, Sandiniés is situated at 1,294 metres above sea level, at the base of the Sierra Partacua. It is part of the Sallent de Gállego municipal area. The centre of the village has been well maintained and has hardly been changed by tourism.

The earliest references to Sandiniés appear in documents from 1279, and although the oldest houses in the village are from the 17th Century, most of the houses were built in the 19th Century. In the past the village has been known both as Sandiniés and San Ginés.

From the viewing point at Sandiniés you can take in a magnificent panoramic view over the confluence of the Rivers Gállego and Caldarés and all the mountaintops in the area.

There is a beautiful Romanesque parish church, and as you enter the village there is an unusual washing-watering place, which has a spring with the inscription “I am good by the grace of God – 1854”.
