PANTIVAL DE FESTICOSA
The Panticosa Comedy Film Festival, Pantival de Festicosa, is held annually on the second weekend of July. Every year the Festival is dedicated to a different actor whose films are shown during the three days of the Festival.
But it does not end there: short films about different themes are projected, there are funny monologues performed on the street, in cafés and in bars, and activities are organised where cinema experts teach the tricks and stunts used in action movies. Different workshops are run in parallel too, such as screenwriting, etc. and there are kids’ activities such as games and a drawing competition.
More information is available at the Panticosa Town Hall.
OBUXO
Although it is not based in a big town or city, every year this fantasy and terror film festival attracts more people and expands its programme of activities. The Festival lasts for three days and is held at the end of August in Javierrelatre (Caldearenas, Huesca).
The overall aim of the Festival is to boost and promote cinema in Aragon, along with the rich cultural heritage of Huesca.
OBUXO and the Obuxo Association (Asociación Obuxo) join forces with a diverse range of cultural associations and other public bodies to expand the range of cultural activities available in the Huesca Region and throughout all of Aragon. As a result there are painting exhibitions, film projections and music from Texas (US), “sinister” piano concerts, readings of dark poetry and the highlight of the Festival: the Audio-visual Rally.
